The hit show Heroes was coming back with a highly-anticipated series that continued the saga with new and returning characters - SDCC was the perfect place to build fan fervor and give people a taste of the new show. I worked with NBC’s in-house events marketing team and the crew at VSL on this very ambitious undertaking, writing and creative directing the narrative elements of the activation, and guiding the development of the visuals to best represent the series. Combining motion tracking, synchronized physical effects (smoke, light, wind, haptics), surround sound, and massive video displays - attendees used their hands to control interactive screen elements that visualized their superpowers. Each person was able to be a part of the underground resistance and fight back against the dangerous Renautus organization that is secretly hunting and eliminating evolved humans.
